Who says you can’t bring your kids wine tasting?

Last weekend to celebrate my sister’s birthday (a couple weeks late) we spent the day wine tasting in Temecula Valley.  All in all there were 6 adults and 4 kids up for this adventure.  We rented a party bus; my boys and nephew couldn’t have been more excited about this particular part of the day.  We selected three family friendly wineries, Longshadow Ranch Winery, Masia de la Vinya, and finally Callaway Vineyard and Winery.

Longshadow Ranch Winery

This was our first stop.  It was a beautiful property with horses for the kids to admire and a great open patio where the kids could kick the soccer ball.  There were picnic tables just outside the ranch style tasting room where us adults sat, tasted wine, ate some cheese and crackers, and could keep an eye on the littles.

We weren’t the only ones with the idea to go wine tasting…with our kids!  Here we saw two other families and their kids.

I am not a wine aficionado, but I can tell you that I did enjoy the wine at this winery.  They had a delicious white that was just the right mix of sweet and fruity for my palate and a White Merlot which was a very tasty Rose.

Masia de la Vinya

This was our second stop.  This winery has a lightly fancier feel to it than our last stop.  Just outside of the tasting room is the patio with incredible views of the valley.  There was a great grassy area where the littles could throw the football around and play catch with their baseballs and baseball gloves (yes, we brought a ton of sporting equipment with us – we did have to keep the littles entertained after all!).  Here we had lunch, picked up by our incredible driver, Gene.

The wine that stood out most to me here was the Brut Champagne.  It was refreshing and crisp.  The perfect drink to sip on before lunch.

Callaway Vineyard and Winery

This was our final stop.  This winery was much larger than the first two with lots of space for the littles to run.  There is a great spot to the back corner of the winery with grass and corn hole that kept the littles entertained.  This is where they spent much of their time.  Couches and tables are spread throughout the property.  Again the views of the valley and this vineyard were breathtaking.

I generally prefer white wine, but the red wines stood out to me the most here.

Executive VIP/MVP Limousine

We rented our party bus through Executive VIP/MVP Limousine.  If you are ever in Temecula Valley and need to rent a car/bus/limo to transport you around, I highly recommend this company.  Our driver, Gene, was incredibly knowledgeable of all the wineries we went to and the wines we were tasting.
